This Privacy Policy describes how GEL Football ("the App", "We", "Us", or "Our") collects, uses, and protects Your information when You use the App. By using the App, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Definitions

• Application refers to GEL Football, the mobile application provided for iOS and iPadOS.
• Company (referred to as "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our") refers to GEL Football.
• Country refers to: Texas, United States.
• Device means any Apple device that can access the App, such as an iPhone or iPad.
• Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
• You means the individual accessing or using the App.

Data We Collect

1. Sign in with Apple

We use Sign in with Apple for authentication. When You sign in, Apple provides Us with:

• Your name (or a name You choose to share)
• Your email address (or an Apple-generated relay email if You choose to hide Your email)

We do not receive or store Your Apple ID password. Authentication credentials are stored securely in Your device's Keychain.

2. Team and Game Data

When You use the App, the following data is created and stored:

• Team information (team names, rosters, player names and numbers)
• Game records (scores, play-by-play data, game statistics)
• Calendar events (event names, dates, times, locations, RSVP responses)
• Chat messages exchanged within team chat
• User roles and display names within teams

This data is stored using Apple's Core Data framework on Your device and synced across Your devices using Apple's CloudKit (iCloud) service.

3. Shared Team Data (CloudKit Sharing)

When a head coach shares a team with other users (assistant coaches, parents, players), the team data listed above is shared via Apple's CloudKit sharing infrastructure. Shared data is accessible only to users who have been explicitly invited by the team owner. All sharing is managed through Apple's iCloud servers.

4. Location Data

When You create a calendar event, You may optionally use the location picker to set an event location. This feature requires Your permission to access Your device's location. Location data is used solely to help You search for and select event venues. We do not track or store Your location in the background.

5. Notifications

The App may send You push notifications and local notifications for game events and team updates. You can enable or disable notifications at any time through Your device's Settings.

6. In-App Purchases

The App offers optional subscription purchases through Apple's App Store. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect or store Your payment information.

7. AI-Generated Game Summaries

The App offers optional AI-generated game summaries through two methods:

• On-Device AI (Apple Intelligence): When available on Your device, game summaries may be generated using Apple's on-device FoundationModels framework. This processing happens entirely on Your device and no data is sent externally.
• Google Gemini API (Optional): You may optionally provide Your own Google Gemini API key to generate game summaries. If You choose to use this feature, game play data is sent to Google's servers for processing. This is entirely opt-in and requires You to enter Your own API key. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for information about how Google handles this data.

8. App Preferences

The App stores user preferences (such as notification settings and last-used event locations) locally on Your device using standard app storage. These preferences are not shared with any third party.

Data We Do NOT Collect

How Your Data Is Stored and Transferred

All app data is stored on Your device and in Your iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit service. Apple's iCloud infrastructure handles the storage, syncing, and transfer of Your data. We do not operate Our own servers. For information on how Apple protects Your iCloud data, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your team data, game records, and chat messages persist in iCloud as long as You maintain Your account. You can delete Your data by:

• Removing teams and games within the App
• Deleting Your iCloud data through Apple's iCloud settings
• Contacting Us to request data deletion

Children's Privacy

Our App does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us so We can take steps to remove that information.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following Apple platform services:

• CloudKit (iCloud) for data storage and sharing
• Sign in with Apple for authentication
• Apple's App Store for in-app purchases
• Apple Push Notification Service for notifications
• MapKit for event location search

The App optionally connects to Google's Gemini API only if You explicitly provide Your own API key. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the privacy practices of these third-party services.

The App contains links to YouTube videos for help and tutorial content. When You open these links, You will be directed to YouTube. We advise You to review YouTube's and Google's Privacy Policies.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last updated" date above.

Security

We rely on Apple's platform security for data protection, including Keychain for credentials, iCloud encryption for synced data, and on-device storage for local data. While we use commercially acceptable means to protect Your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
